Do these two scenes look like they go together?

How we treat this Earth and all its inhabitants speaks volumes about how much we care about God, our kids and other people. Sustainable and Humane ways of eating are just the start. If you ever have been to a Landfill, you will rethink throwing that big computer screen in the trash. We really do like putting the blinders on don’t we? If you believe in God you should know it is clear how he wants us to treat this place. Even if you don’t believe, there is a direct connection to all of us here on Earth that should compel us. Especially for the children. The Native Americans have always respected the Earth as well as many other cultures around the globe.

One of my musical influences, Kenny Loggins wrote an amazing song years ago called “Conviction of the Heart”. Yet sadly, things are even worse now. And of course, the globally aware Michael Jackson wrote a powerful song called “Earth Song” (see Right). The power of music is like none other.

Yet we all need to find the reason in ourselves to have conviction and follow through. Even if it just starts with something simple like recycling. Or choosing to walk 5 blocks instead of drive there. Or buying from restaurants that have organic, kosher or sustainable meats. Supporting companies how use renewable energy or ones who don’t dump toxins.

Why? Because the Earth is all we have in this lifetime. Our kids and grandkids will reap what we now sow. I want our son to reap health, peace and happiness. not pollution and chaos. we have found our “conviction” and we pray you will find yours.

“Conviction of the Heart” by Kenny Loggins

This song says so much about how we feel. I really am inspired whenever I hear it. The lyrics:
How long must we all wait to change
This world bound in chains that we live in
To know what it is to forgive
    And be Forgiven
