A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. - Proverbs 31:10
“Love suffers long, and is kind; love does not envy; love does not promote itself, is not puffed up, does not behave badly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails” -1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Ever heard those words at a wedding? When you really dwell on them, they are very powerful and very challenging. Every now and then if we have an argument, I remember this verse and am immediately humbled.
The truth is no one is perfect. People are different. No one is blameless. Everyone wants to be loved. Marriage is a blessing of companionship, intimacy, protection, happiness, fulfillment, depth and passion. However, it doesn’t take long before the “honeymoon” is over and people stop communicating and start to grate on each other’s nerves.
We have been married over 14 years so we are not experts. But we have learned enough to share our thoughts.
Never go to sleep angry
Tell each other every day something you love about them. May be a repeat but just do it.
Figure out your Love Language and love them in theirs
Always remember the bigger picture. You are meant for GREAT things together. As my Grandad used to say “This too shall pass”. Don’t let a hard time bring bitterness into your relationship. Pray together and let it go...

One of the most important things we learned early in our marriage is the Triangle. Here is the diagram.:
Your marriage is joined under God. Otherwise it would be a civil union or a partnership. Marriage is sacred and blessed by God. So we must keep Him at the top of it. As you’ll see in this diagram, the closer each individual moves toward God, the closer you are to your spouse. The further you move away from God, the further you get from each other. Simple but effective right?

Intimacy is one of the best benefits of marriage. Definitely at the top of the list for Husbands! We have a page dedicated to sexual intimacy. Please only visit the page if you are 18 and over, married or engaged to be married. Click HERE

Here are a few scriptures on marriage that we feel are the most important:

- “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it” Ephesians 5:25
- “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.” Ephesians 5:22
“What therefore God has joined together, do not let man put asunder (separate).” Mark 10:9
“And be kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32
“And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy.” Hosea 2:19

Date to find a mate.

I think the only reason you date is to find that one special person to spend your life with. So if you see red flags or you know soon into it, that this person is not “marrying material”, just end it gently.

You may end up wasting years when you could have just listened to your instincts in the beginning.
